On March 3rd, Armenia will have the premiere of the highly anticipated adventurous comedy ‘Run Away or Get Married’ (Paxir Kam Amusnacir) starring Armenian actor and comedian Mkrtich Arzumanyan. His co-star? Armenian diva singer Iveta Mukuchyan. Yes, the same Iveta who is representing Armenia in this years Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden.
On March 3rd, audiences in Armenia will have the first opportunity to see the film which later opens in Los Angeles (slated for March 16th).
Aghasi (Arzumanyan), a humble taxi driver who inherited the first and only passenger car from his father, drives commuters to their destination. A somewhat stagnant life until he meets the very beautiful and highly charged Satenik (Mukuchyan). Aghasi’s life dramatically changes when he is unexpectedly forced to drive Satenik, who is fleeing from her own wedding. The adventurous ride along accompanies many unexpected scenarios whilst being pursued by Sateniks husband and his ushers!
Iveta Mukuchyan who lives in Germany and who had no prior acting experience, received a phone call from Armenia, it was Mkrtich, and he was highly interested in her to play the main roll. After expressing her initial hesitation, Mkrtich explained to her that he was not interested in an “actor”, he simply wanted Iveta to be herself, after all, this was the character he was looking for.
Mkrtich, who is well known to have played 100’s of characters took Iveta under his wings and the outcome seems flawless. Mkrtich also commends all the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication in making this little gem of a movie.
Once again, ‘Run Away or Get Married’ (Paxir Kam Amusnacir) will premiere in Armenia on March 3rd and in Los Angeles on March 16th. We will revise this post once we get confirmation on any other release dates in other countries or cities.
